What is the benefit of blogging? I have a trash bin cleaning service. What would I be blogging about?
Why are so many being led to believe blogging is a distinct thing? Granted, it is… but the reason I ask that is that we seem to having tons of questions about whether or not people should “blog.”
Here’s what you need to appreciate:
Creating content about your business is the ONLY way anyone knows or cares about it.
“Blogging” is just creating content online in a sequential, time oriented way.
If you’re business isn’t creating any content, it’s fair to say that you look out of business. No?? You’re not getting any customer testimonials you could share? You have no news? No tips you might offer about your market? Sounds like you’re out of business to me. At least, that’s what search engines will infer: no content suggests a dead, bad, or uninteresting business.
But why should you “blog” in particular?
The reason so many people and businesses have taken to blogging is that it’s essentially free.
The platform to blog, search engines, and social media can all be used to benefit your business, free. If you blog.
Consider that before the internet and blogs existed, you had to pay to get this content out. You had to pay for an ad or pay for PR to get news out. Now you can do it yourself. Why would you not?!?!
