Bryce Aron Max Harper is an American professional baseball right fielder for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball. . He has been touted as a “five-tool player.

After being selected in the first overall pick in the 2010 MLB Draft, Bryce Harper proved he is baseball worth by winning that year’s Golden Spikes Award that is given annually to the best amateur player.

Among his accolades, besides being ranked as a top-3 prospect for the 2012 season, Harper became the youngest position player to perform in an All-Star Game;  won the 2012 National League (NL) Rookie of the Year Award and was named the NL Most Valuable Player in 2015.

In 2018, Harper won the All-Star Home Run Derby Baseball in front of his hometown crowd. It’s no wonder he is regarded as the first player in MLB history to hit five round-trippers in opening games before the age of 25.

When it comes to diet, Harper has spoken publicly about his decisions pertaining to what he can or can’t eat or drink. One of his remarkable diet habits is that he vouched off alcohol and energy drinks like Red Bull and Five-Hour Energy, due to their high sugar and caffeine content.

However, he lives off foods and drinks such as homemade organic juice, glutamine powder in yogurt ‘n’ fruit. He would succumb to a craving of a carbonated drink like Mountain Dew but not more than one sip during offseasons.

Besides enjoying homemade meals – from ranch dress to spaghetti, thanks to his mother whom he said is unbelievable when it comes to food, Harper indulges Klondike Bars, Double Stuff Oreos and Starbucks pumpkin spice lattes.

For a late night snack, Harper would grab some bits of avocado and cucumber sandwich. If it comes down to making his own juice, cucumber, kale, green tomato and apple is the first choice.

According to the baseball champion, visiting McDonald’s after a workout is not an option since his body is all he’s got. Bryce Harper believes in keeping his body strong and in good shape by working hard every single day.

The MLB star has been swinging so hard that his hands were full of cuts and blisters as he shared on social media. Just like all pro athletes, Harper is heating it off in the gym, during offseasons, with intense heavyweight lifts – trap bar deadlift, pause squat set and heavy-duty trap bar deadlift.

He would drive up to the training facilities around 5:0 am to join a group of league players for a workout, 4 times in a week, for between 90 minutes and two hours or more on leg days. About 10 minutes of cardiovascular exercise usually stationary biking or running gets him warmed up for the main deal (bar lifting).
