TP-Link’s new Deco X90 AX6600 mesh networking system uses AI to improve network performance

TP-Link has just released its flagship mesh networking system, the Deco X90, here in Singapore.

The Deco X90 is a Wi-Fi 6 tri-band AX6600-class mesh networking system that supports speeds of up to 574Mbps on its 2.4GHz network, 1,201Mbps on one of its 5GHz network, and 4,804Mbps on its second 5GHz network.

With support for Wi-Fi 6 technologies like OFDMA, the Deco X90 is claimed to be able to support up to 200 connected devices simultaneously.

But what makes it stand apart is that TP-Link claims that the Deco X90 is the first mesh networking system that uses AI to improve network performance.

The Deco X90 uses its quad-core 1.5GHz processor to automatically learn users’ behaviours and patterns and adjusts performance to deliver the best connection and speed. Specifically, it uses AI to send well-timed roaming invitations to your devices as you move across your home from one node to the next.

As for ports, each Deco X90 node has a single 2.5Gbps Ethernet port and a second 1Gbps Ethernet port. Unfortunately, there’s no USB port.

The Deco X90 was also designed to be easy to setup. Simply download the Deco app and follow on the on-screen instructions and you can have your network up and running in minutes.
