Intel Corporation, founded in July 1968, is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer(on the basis of revenue). In mid-2006, most of the desktop got the first Intel core processor after replacing the previous high-end processor, Pentium. The very first microprocessor, Intel 4004, was also developed by Intel and was released in 1971. With advancements in technology, the Intel Corporation produces new upgraded chips every year. This year, Intel has released its new 11th Gen processor, Tiger Lake.
About the New Intel 11th Generation Processor – Tiger Lake
After a lot of changes, Intel has finally released its new 11th generation processors. This processor has been given a particular code name – Tiger Lake and is manufactured using the Third-Gen Intel processor, i3 (10 nm SuperFin) based on the new Microarchitecture, Willow Cove.
According to Intel, this new 11th Gen Processor comes up with a lot of improvements and enhances the graphics quality as well as performance to 2x as compared to the previous Ice Lake.

Intel 11th Gen Processor is based upon an enhanced 10nm process(node named 10nm SuperFin). This new Intel 11th Gen processor represents a step in optimizing Intel’s process-architecture-optimization model and is upgraded to give up to 20% higher clock speed than the previous processor. This new 11th Gen Intel Processor Tiger Lake replaces the family of mobile processors(Ice Lake) and improves power efficiency.
The Tiger Lake processor will stick with the Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 configuration. However, the clock speed, battery efficiency, and graphics performance will vary for different configurations.
Coming to the basic, Core i3, it strikes 3.7Ghz on a single core while 3.3Ghz on all cores(4). The Core i3-1125G4 is very much equivalent to its Core i5 counterpart as both have a 12-28W power draw. It uses Intel Ultra HD Graphics. What it doesn’t have is the Iris Xe graphics. It supports LPDDR4x-3733 RAM and has a dual-core, quad-thread that runs up to 4.1Ghz on both of its cores and has 6MB of cache memory.
The Core i5-1135G7 comes with 8MB of cache and a Xe graphic that sports 80 EUs. It has the same four-core, eight-thread design same as core i7, but it has a single-core clock speed of 4.2GHz and a max multi-core speed of 3.8GHz.
The higher variant, Core i7-1185G7 has the very powerful Xe graphics accelerator that sports 96 execution units. It has the most powerful CPU with 12MB of cache memory and has a quad-core, 8 thread CPU which clocks up to a max 4.8GHz on single-core while 4.3GHz on all cores.
Intel 11th Gen Processor – Tiger Lake Laptops
Expected to be released in 2021, Intel’s Tiger Lake CPUs were finally released in the ending days of September 2020. Intel launched its new-generation chips with faster and more efficient CPU and GPU cores, highlighting performance improvements on the new architecture and the final introduction of its long-awaited Xe graphics engine.
As of now, you may find the Intel Tiger Lake processors but they are only available for Laptops. In the future, Intel may face ups and down while launching this 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor for Desktop CPU. We have gathered a list of the top 5 laptops that have this 11th Gen processor.

Intel Tiger Lake graphics
The new Intel 11th Gen Tiger Lake processors come with the new Iris Xe integrated graphics processing unit(GPUs) that are based upon the Xe-LP architecture of Intel. This new GPU delivers 2x graphics performance as compared to the Iris Plus GPUs in the Ice Lake chips.
If we compare both Iris Plus and Tiger Lake, the previous Iris Plus can run modern games with lower settings whereas the new Tiger Lake can run the modern games very smoothly with a higher frame rate and at 1080p High Definition Resolution.
Intel has shown a video where someone plays high-end games like counter strike, Far Cry New Dawn with Iris Xe graphics. All these were playable at 1080p. However, Intel didn’t mention the graphics settings.

Conclusion About Intel Tiger Lake 11th Gen Processor
Intel had released its Ice Lake processors(10th Gen) in 2019. After so many ups and down in sustaining high clock speeds on its underperforming 10nm process node, the corporation was forced to use its 14nm Comet Lake processor in order to satisfy the demands of the laptop market. So, this year, Intel launched a new 11th Gen processor.
Similar to the previous Gen Processors of Intel, the new 11th Generation processors have been divided into two categories. The first family is for the ultraportable laptops that require high performance and better power efficiency whereas the second family is for the thin-and-light laptops that do not require much performance. However, there is better power efficiency in thin-and-light laptops.
