Kawasaki Goat Robot

Recently International Robot Exhibition was held to show the world’s largest robot trade show. It was held in March 2022. In this exhibition, Kawasaki showed off its first Kawasaki Goat robot. In this post, we will cover more about this Japanese Goat Robot.

Kawasaki Goat Robot is the first rideable robot goat that was unveiled by the Japanese manufacturer in the 2022 International Robot Exhibition held in Tokyo with over 140,000 visitors. This Japanese Goat Robot is a product of Kawasaki’s humanoid program. This program recently unveiled another robot named Kaleido.

In this post, we will cover more on Kawasaki Goat Robot. We will go through its specifications and its application. Why it was created by the Kawasaki. So, without wasting time, let’s start finding the answers.

What Is Kawasaki Goat Robot?

People, we expecting a new electric bike from Kawasaki, instead of a 2-wheeler, Kawasaki launched a four-legged ride. The Goat robot can give humans a ride with its steady walking actions. This Kawasaki Goat Robot is named Kawasaki Bex. It is a quadruped robot that walks slowly and steadily in the form of a goat. The new thing introduced here is the knees. Once on its knees, it moves on wheels.

What Are The Features Of Kawasaki Bex?

Kawasaki’s Bex comes with some cool features.  It had an added feature of wheeled knees. Bex can drive around instead of walking when the robot kneels down and deploys a pair of drive wheels under its belly, The Omni-directional knee wheels and dual center drive wheels also give the robot the ability to perform a tank-steer maneuver or turn in place. Its center wheel is used to change the direction. It is a fully AI-powered ride. The Bex robot has a capacity to carry passenger-carrying back and handlebars that support a rider up to 100 kg (220 lb), with the rider able to control the robot via the handlebars.

Kawasaki claimed that the robot can also have other modular upper bodies, meaning it could likely be outfitted with cargo-carrying attachments instead of a human-carrying saddle. We don’t know yet whether or not the goat head is optional.

Why Kawasaki Bex?

As everyone is moving toward robots might sound strange, but it’s becoming a common trend in the industry. Even the tech giant Tesla has gotten on board with its plans to develop a humanoid robot. This is mainly of the ongoing labor shortage, many companies are looking to replace human labor with robots. Amazon famously uses a fleet of robots in its warehouses, and many restaurants have begun testing out robotic waiters as food delivery workers. US companies ordered around 29,000 robots last year, according to Business Insider.

Kawasaki is of course better known for its motorcycles than its robots, and the company is making progress on electric motorcycle development.

When Will Kawasaki Goat Robot Be Launched?

We can say for sure that Kawasaki Bex made a successful launch. Now it will be tested for some time before its mass production will begin. We can expect it in the market early next year 2023.

Wrapping Up
